Where We Test Outside

Conditions Matter

For external testing, we test wet as standard and discuss whether contamination by leaf litter, algae or de-icer residue is relevant to the assessment. Pendulum results vary substantially depending on what is on the surface, and a test conducted only on a swept-clean dry surface tells you very little about real-world risk.

Common the East Midlands Findings

Across our the East Midlands external testing work, the most common issues we identify are: polished natural stone in entrance plazas, smooth pre-cast concrete units that have aged, painted line markings on external ramps, and metal access covers in pedestrian routes. Each has well-established remediation options if testing identifies them as a risk.
